Hanlin is a Higher Education Research and Support Officer at LITE where she conducts research about the role of AI in higher education. In this role, she also provides support for LITE Fellows through designing appropriate methodologies, preparing ethical applications, collecting and analysing data. She also contributes to the Digital and Open Education Incubator.
Before joining LITE, Hanlin completed her PhD at University College London in 2025 where she conducted pedagogical research of university teacher teaching with technology, especially during the breakdown and repair moments. Apart from the PhD research, she joined in multiple human-computer interaction research projects. These included inclusive design and pedagogy with telepresence robot usage in UK higher education for students with non-visible disabilities, and e-textile design with BBC Microbit with school children for social and creative computing. She was also a teaching assistant in MA programmes at UCL.
