INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

LITE is offering a trio of exciting opportunities to lead on the development of a world-class curriculum while shaping the academic experience of students at the University of Leeds.

We are seeking Discovery Theme Leaders to work across the Discovery themes of Ethics, Religion and LawMedia, Culture and Creativity and Power and Conflict.

Successful candidates will be keen to develop their academic leadership skills and be able to demonstrate a vision for taking their Discovery Theme forward in the medium- to long-term.

They will also be committed to developing the Discovery Theme portfolio, as well as Broadening more generally, as part of the Leeds Curriculum.

Chair of Broadening at Leeds, Professor Martin Levesley, said:

These are exciting roles that will give successful candidates the chance to be at the very forefront of shaping the future of education at the University of Leeds.

The roles are open to University of Leeds staff only and are offered on a 0.2FTE workload remission basis for a fixed term of three years.

It is expected that successful candidates will take up their appointment at the start of semester 2 in early 2019, but a later start in 2019 may be negotiated.

LITE Director, Dr Kelvin Tapley, said:

This is an important time to be involved in the leadership of the Discovery portfolio to ensure it has both depth and the agility to provide students with a framework fit for 21st century higher education.

"LITE is excited to be involved in this process."

The closing date for applications is Thursday 29th November 2018, with interviews expected to be held w/c 10th December 2018, though this may be subject to change.

Interested candidates who would like to know more about the role are invited to a Discover Discovery event on Wednesday 21st November, from 1pm.

This will cover all things Discovery with the current Discovery Theme Leaders where there will be a Q&A session.
