SAAW: Synchronous Online Learning

Date
Date
Wednesday 20 January 2021, 13:00 to 14:00

SYNCHRONOUS online teaching will be the focus of the next Share, Adapt, Adopt workshop (SAAW).

The online event will feature practical examples, as well as discussion underpinning pedagogic principles for effective interaction in synchronous online teaching.

Jointly hosted by TIPS Community, Interim Deputy Vice Chancellor for Digital Transformation, Professor Neil Morris, will introduce the event.

This will be followed by speakers Dr Bronwen Swinnerton and Katharine Stapleford, from the School of Education, who will both share ideas for introductions and ice-breakers, consider the cameras on/off debate, reflect on expectations and assumptions around synchronous interaction, and offer some suggestions for creating a culture of collaboration.

You can sign up for the event here.

Dr Aline Gaus, OD&PL and TIPS Community Project lead, will also host SAAW Extra from14:00 to 14:30pm, which is a relaxed, unrecorded, space for those that want to keep the conversation going after the workshop.

A link to the meeting will be shared on the day.
