University of Leeds Staff can view this event here.

This is the first of a monthly series of events, curated by Pam Birtill, Academic Lead for Leeds Expectations on Assessment and Feedback (LEAF), to explore how we might improve our own practice. Aimed at all academics, from post-graduate teaching assistants to professors, directors of student education, programme managers, and everyone who has a role in delivering student education, each event will focus on evidence that can improve the experience of assessment for students and staff. The aim of the sessions is that you can leave with actionable insights to improve your own practice. You can sign up for this hybrid event here.

The first event will consider dialogic feedback – Eva Sansavior will start by delivering a summary of key themes in the literature around feedback, and Richard Harris will present one way that the school of Psychology has tried to implement this practice within anonymous marking systems. There will be discussion of how we might adopt a more conversational approach to feedback within our own practices.
