Academic Integrity Masterclass led by Kane Murdoch

Artificial intelligence is on everyone’s lips at the moment and Kane, like many others, is pushing for universities to embrace the transformative potential of tools like ChatGPT as opposed to banning them. His expert insights will be invaluable for all staff as we try to navigate ethical and responsible integration of generative AI.

Once described approvingly as a "disruptor" by someone with much more hair than he currently possesses, Kane Murdoch is the Head of Complaints, Appeals and Misconduct at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. He is, reputedly, an expert in the detection of contract cheating and is generally extremely well informed on misconduct matters, and what misconduct implies for all of us. He co-created the "Courageous Conversations" model for handling academic misconduct, mainly because he detected so much contract cheating that a more sensible model became necessary.
