Journal Club

THE NEXT LITE Journal Club will be on December 18 and will centre around the paper: ‘Can a rubric do more than be transparent? Invitation as a new metaphor for assessment criteria’.

It will be led byProfessor of Chemistry and Pro Dean for Student Education Paul Taylor.

It will take place between 10.00 – 11.00 in Hilary Place SR (LG.01) and to celebrate the end of term and the festive season will be serving coffee, tea and festive treats.

The Journal Club is a discussion group for all interested in the latest teaching and learning scholarship has been set up as the newest addition to the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence (LITE) community which meets regularly to discuss ideas and emerging themes in pedagogic research.

All members have to do is read in advance and bring ideas and thoughts along.

Professor Tina Overton, Director of LITE, said:

A Journal Club is a really enjoyable and effective way for colleagues to engage with the latest literature in teaching and learning, whether they are already experienced or dipping their toe in the water.

“The Journal Club is one of several initiatives that LITE has put in place to help colleagues interested in getting more involved pedagogic research or educational enquiry.”
