Institute Director Professor Tina Overton writes about how hard work behind the scenes is contributing to a rising momentum across the LITE community.

It has been a busy time in LITE over the past couple of months.

We have launched the all new flexible LITE Fellowship and our new Catalyst Fund and established several new networks and special interest groups.

Added to this, we have also organised a number of events, both Share Adapt Adopt sessions to share effective practice developed here at Leeds and Masterclasses with external expert presenters.

LITE has also begun a programme of work around building capacity and expertise in pedagogic research and we really seem to have identified a need amongst colleagues with our two ‘Getting Started in Pedagogic Research’ workshops filling up very quickly.

And there is already a waiting list for another in the autumn.

There will be a pedagogic research ‘retreat’ at the end of the month for colleagues to further develop their research plans and build collaborations.

We are also supporting this initiative with funding for events  - described elsewhere in this bulletin - and through the journal club and a drop in surgery.

And, as the new academic year approaches, we are planning more new initiatives.

But, as always, we welcome input from our community, so do get in touch if you identify a need that LITE could help address or if you have a bright idea for an event or project.

Watch out early in the new session for opportunities to apply for Catalyst funding, Fellowships and travel grants.

I wish everyone a restful summer and I look forward to engaging with many of you over the coming months.
