Second keynote announced for SEC/DigiFest2018

SHINING A light on the co-creation of setting up a joint Leeds/China school will be the focus of the second keynote for the Student Education Conference and Digital Festival 2018.

Joanne Shiel from the Language Centre, and Andy Kemp from the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, will reflect on their experience after setting up the University of Leeds & Southwest Jiaotong University Joint School.

The talk will explore how the experience helped refine their educational practice and highlight the rewards and challenges of bringing the Leeds Curriculum  to China, as well as working with an international HE provider to create co-create educational resources.

There will also be contributions from the LUU executive and, SWJTU-Leeds Joint School staff and students.

The overarching theme for the event is The Co-creation of Education, with sessions over the two days – Thursday 4 and Friday 5 January – examining sub-themes of staff-student partnerships, collaborations between academics, technicians and professional staff, and curriculum design involving external partners.

Celebrated digital education consultant Helen Beetham, who specialises in digital capability, citizenship and wellbeing, will deliver the DigiFest keynote on the first day of next year's event.
